A: Good question. There’s a gazillion translators & content creators to choose from. Like me, some have diplomas, years of experience and invest in training every year. What sets me apart?
My promise to the planet aligns with yours. Who better to communicate your values?
Let’s chat. You can ask me all your questions. I’m sure we’re a great match.
A: It’s thanks to my approach. I invest in every project. I’m as reliable as the sun, and equally as warm. And my long-standing business relationships prove it!
A: Take a look at the services I provide to see how we can work together, or shoot me an email so we can talk about your goals: susytranslations@gmail.com
A: I’m Susy. I translate and write copy in English for brands reinventing how we consume.
Originally from California, my talent for languages goes back to childhood. From toddlerhood, loving yet strictly Spanish-speaking nannies replaced my workaholic parents – a lot.
The upside of that experience is that I could speak two languages before kindergarten.
The other upside is that I acquired a tenacious globe-trotter syndrome and a third language in route: French.
I can’t think of any downsides.
A: Because meeting your objectives in your current market deserves a little jig of joy, but capturing new audiences will get you breakdancing to the beat of success.
A: Yes. But let me explain. Contrary to my beliefs at the time, my talent for languages did NOT allow me to immediately understand Portuguese when I arrived at the Brazilian Venezuelan border to buy my ticket to board the ferry to Peru. In the confusion, I set sail going the wrong direction. A trip that should have taken three days took a week. And I’m glad it did.
Thanks to that ‘detour’ in the middle of the Amazon, I discovered the white sand beaches of the island, Alter de Chao. Yet another lesson on how opening the door to other cultures can take us beyond our imaginations!
After earning my diploma in technical translation from the Edvenn Learning Institute, I set up shop as a freelance translator in 2016. I combine this word craft with the knowledge I gained in nutritional science during my bachelor’s studies at San Diego State University and ten years running an organic vegetable & flower farm on terraced land in the south of France.
French American, I’ve lived, studied and worked in both countries: a cultural and linguistic learning experience that I put to work to deliver your message.
I straddle both cultures—the perfect asset for understanding your message AND your readers.
I reinforce my writing with professional development courses in copywriting, SEO, etc.
Less is more. That’s always been my motto. Organic farmer, repurposing, minimalism — I do all that naturally. And my years as a globetrotter sharpened my talent for languages.
Today, I combine those traits to write good words for good causes. It’s what I’d like to do for you.
